Lager.de moving checklist

A move is an organizational masterpiece - there's no other way to put it.

At Lager.de you can store your things temporarily to make the move a little less stressful and more flexible.

Nevertheless, this is not all Lager.de can do for you in such a case. Therefore, there is now the great Lager.de moving checklist, so that you really do not forget anything more during the move.

We start two to three months before the move and the first measures

• Cancel your existing rental contract, the deadline for this is usually about three months
• Set a date for the move 
• Possibly new places in kindergarten or school, if you are moving far away or have children, respectively
• Reregistration: Telephone and Internet provider, TV, GEZ and Co.

Continue in the phase about four weeks before the move

• If you have a car and your new apartment is in a big city: Reserve a no-stopping zone 
• If necessary, register bulky waste with the city
• Take care of possible renovations 
• You may still need to take vacation time for your move
• Take care of moving truck and moving helpers (if necessary moving company)
  
  
  

It becomes more immediate. We are only two to three weeks away from moving

• Set up a forwarding request with the post office
• Arrange handover and meter reading date with the landlord
• Rent a box at Lager.de and buy moving boxes
• Do you have small children or a pet? You may need a sitter
  
  

Still one week to go

• Empty the fridge 😊But not all at once
• Pack up anything unimportant and dispose of anything unnecessary
• Remind movers again that the move is coming up soon
  
  

The day before the move

• Drop off pets and possibly plants
• Defrost the refrigerator and prepare food for yourself and your helpers
• Pack the rest
• Pack "moving backpack" with the things you need for moving day
• Check your keys, cover the floors, get enough money from the bank and charge your cell phone battery
